What is an RCV Trustee? Our Trustees are volunteers who serve on the Management Committees of RCV's local affiliated Branches. Trustees are committed individuals who believe in RCV's cause, steer our work at a local level and make it possible for our work to continue. Trustees offer their time and are recruited for the varied skills and expertise they can offer.
What is a Management Committee? The Management Committee is a group of individuals who govern a charity. Jointly, this group takes responsibility for: Upholding RCV's vision and mission Leading on setting RCV's objectives at a local level The qualitative way in which RCV supports adults with a physical disability Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements Financial management and prudence The promotion of RCV's work in local areas The employment of paid staff Adherence to internal policies and external agreements Management Committees typically meet 6-8 times per year, and will often have designated responsibility for a particular area of our work, such as Health and Safety, Human Resources or finance. As a hallmark of an effective charity, RCV is keen to identify individuals who can offer a breadth of experience and expertise.
What do Trustees receive in return? Trustees will receive a comprehensive package of support from RCV, including a 'how to' guide, an induction and the offer of relevant training. Branch Trustees also have access to the ongoing support of a friendly team, with opportunities to network with Trustees in other Branches. Trustees give their time for free but are entitled to all out of pocket expenses. All RCV Trustees are protected by indemnity insurance.
